SEA GEM INTERNATIONAL is still managed by Rodney Aird-Mash, who looks forward to welcoming back former Clients, and to inviting new Owners, Captains, and Crew to try our services next time they have a Personnel requirement, or are seeking a new challenging job. Although our Administration department is always manned, the Sea Gem team do not all remain in the office waiting for the action to happen - we are right now out scouring the Mediterranean, - meeting, entertaining, being entertained by, - Clients and prospective Crew. So, - if you are reading this lying at anchor, - take a closer look at the occupants of that brightly coloured inflatable currently circling you !
SPECIAL EVENT 2010 ! - Yes friends, now it can be revealed. The 2009 Gondola Race in Venice was a great success ( if rather more costly than anticipated for entrants ) resulting in a straight one-two-three for Italian crews - the winner of the Sea Gem Trophy indeed turning out to be the son of a Gondolier, who only did not follow in the family tradition as he could not sing. To give other nationalities, especially the Brits, a chance this year we are returning to Mallorca to stage a less ostentatious Pedalo Race at Magalluf ( near Palma ). On gleefully announcing this to the current champion, challenging him to defend his crown, - he countered that we were apparently unaware that the Pedalo was also an Italian invention, and that between leaving Venice and entering Yachting, he had been a "Bagnino" on Rimini beach. We are not sure what that means, except that it seems the Trophy shall not be leaving Italy anytime soon .......
